Rovers still hunting for top eight place

Hull KR coach Chris Chester is sure that his team can still make the top eight in Super League, despite suffering a somewhat weak-willed defeat at Salford on Sunday.

Yet again, Rovers forced themselves into a strong position, leading 18-4 at one stage in the first half, only to lose 31-18.

Next Friday’s derby against Hull FC now takes on even greater significance for both teams, as they look to avoid the Middle Eights.

“Two wins will still get us in the eight, if we win them then I think we will get into that top eight,” Chestr told his club’s official website.

“We have made it very difficult for ourselves but we have to dust ourselves down as we have another big game next week.

“It’ll be a tough week, they are all tough weeks. It is an important part of the season where everything comes to a head. We have to get back on the horse and prepare for a huge derby clash against Hull FC.”
