Rovers confident, says Hodgson

Hull KR hooker Josh Hodgson says the win against Wakefield has given them a big confidence boost ahead of their first home game against St Helens on Sunday.

Hodgson, 22, was an ever present in Super League for Rovers last season, and scored a crucial try in the 22-10 win at Belle Vue, as they shut out the Wildcats for the whole of the second half.

He told the club’s official website: “We did do too much defending in the second half but the flip side of that was that we kept Wakefield out for that full 40 minutes which was a phenomenal effort.

“We obviously know that there are things we need to work on and we’ll be doing that this week ahead of the Saints game.

“The win (on Sunday) has given everyone a lot of confidence though, and hopefully we can kick on from here.”

Hull KR lost their Super League opener against Leeds, but welcome St Helens to Craven Park this weekend, looking to repeat their 24-22 victory over Royce Simmons’ side last August.
