Rochdale have announced the signings of Malta International Louis Singleton, and Wales International Cobi Green for 2022.

Singleton has joined the club from fellow League One side London Skolars, while Green comes from Swinton, who have been relegated from the Championship.

30-year-old Singleton played for Malta in a 2015 international against Belgium at Headingley. He came off the bench as Malta won 35-34.

Meanwhile, Green played for Wales in the Nines World Cup in Sydney back in 2019.

Speaking to the club website, Singleton said: “Joining Rochdale was an opportunity I couldn’t say no to.

“Everything about the club is class. From the facilities to the work Andy (Mazey) and the board are doing in the background and the size of the fan base, it shows we’re a Championship club.

“For me, the main challenge is going to be nailing down a spot in the 17 as the standard of the squad we have is really high and I want to come in and add value immediately.

“Working with Matt (Calland) is something I’m looking forward to. Having played against his side this year, he likes teams that play a fast attacking brand of rugby that will get people excited and I can’t wait to pull on the red, white and blue and be part of it.”

Green added: “I’m really looking forward to the season ahead and showing what I’m capable of.

“I can’t wait to get stuck in with the boys.”

Third signing in a week for Rochdale

The pair are the second and third signings the Hornets have made in the last week. They also announced the return of Tom Whur on a season-long loan.

Whur initially signed on a short-term loan in 2021, and will now play the season in Rochdale in search for regular game time.
