Rochdale bring in amateur star

Rochdale have signed Adam Hesketh from amateur side Thatto Heath Crusaders for 2020.

Hesketh will join team-mates Andy Lea and Adam Carr from the community game, having represented Lancashire Open Age and England Community Lions.

He said: “I’m excited to test myself down at Rochdale this year.

“It’s a good oportunity for me to take a step up. I’m very famililar with the coaching staff and the players have all been great really welcoming.

“I can’t wait to get on the pitch in League 1 this season.”

Hornets coach Matt Calland added: “Another one from Thatto Heath who is a very tough, uncompromising player.

“He has played internationally as a amateur and is looking to test himself at a higher level.”
