Roby: Saints won’t get carried away

St Helens hooker James Roby says they won’t get carried away despite consigning Castleford to their first home defeat of the season.

Roby scored two tries and was man of the match as his side started the Super 8s with a 26-12 win at The Jungle.

The win lifts them in to the top four, ahead of Friday night’s fixtures.

Roby told Sky Sports: “It was a great team performance. Our defensive attitude to keep a team like Castleford, especially this year, at bay was excellent. We worked hard and worked for one and other and it paid off.

“You’ve got to take what chances you get. It was a tight game, but it was a great performance and we can take confidence from that.

“We wanted to get the win and perform well. We’ll take each win as it comes. The Super 8s are going to be testing for every team, we can’t get carried away, we’ve got to keep at it.”

St Helens next two games sees them take on the other two teams alongside Castleford in the top three – Leeds and Hull.
