Hull KR halfback Connor Robinson would be very pleased if he kept his place in the squad for the crucial forthcoming clash with Widnes.

The Hull-born 19-year-old made his debut from the bench in the away win against London Broncos at the weekend.

Despite his pre-match nerves, the youngster enjoyed the win in the capital, and wants to taste more Super League action soon.

“My nerves were ridiculous, but when I got out onto the pitch I felt okay,” he told the Hull Daily Mail.

“I didn’t think I was going to play as long as I did. I was told I might get 25 minutes or so, but to play as long as I did was a great experience.

“I couldn’t have asked for anything better than to get a big win like that. You don’t want to start your Super League career with a loss.

“I don’t know if I’ve done enough to keep my place in the squad. I know I still have a few things to work on physically, but it was a big step up from playing for the under-19s.

“It’s a massive step up, especially in the heat we had to deal with. It feels good to play a part in helping to get the win.”
