Robinson wants Giant defensive effort against Leeds

Huddersfield pivot Luke Robinson knows that the Giants’ defence must be at its best if they are to knock Leeds out of the Challenge Cup this weekend.

The Giants have a good record at Headingley, but Robinson is well aware of the treats that the Rhinos pose.

“Leeds are going to pose a lot of questions of our defence,” he told his club’s official website.

“We know we are going to have to be on our game and defend well if we are going to get anything out of the game, but we know our defence has been good so far this year.

“I think in any game you want to start well, not only for points but it’s great for your confidence if you start well.

“We know that Leeds are going to come out strong and we know we are going to have to match them to get our foot in the game.”

Huddersfield do tend to feel quite comfortable when they play at Headingley, and Robinson hopes that that theme continues on Saturday afternoon.

“I think we enjoy playing at Headingley,” he said.

“We have won most of our games in recent years against them and it’s a bit of a lucky place for us to go to, so long may that continue.

“Everybody likes going to Leeds, it’s a nice stadium and you’re playing against one of the best teams in the league and we have done particularly well there in the past couple of years.”
