Robinson joins Halifax from Hull KR

Halifax have used their dual registration deal with Hull KR to bring Conor Robinson into their squad ahead of Friday’s clash with Hunslet.

Robinson plays hooker or half-back, and has trained with Fax coach Richard Marshall’s squad this week.

“Connor has come in this week and will be in the squad; he’s trained extremely well and he looks very sharp,” said Marshall.

“He’s quick and his distribution looks good, so he will give us options.”

Fax need reinforcements in the pivot positions, with Danny Craven being recalled from loan by Widnes this week.

That exit was unexepcted, which meant that Fax had already allowed utility back Chris Taylor to join Whitehaven on a month’s loan.

“Chris needs to play and he’ll get that chance at Whitehaven,” explained Marshall.

“The timing looks a bit odd now with Danny going back, but I don’t go back on my word and I’m not sure Chris would have played this week in any case.”
