The England star is reportedly attracting interest from a number of NRL clubs, with Sydney Roosters linked with him.

Young told Fox Sports: “I’m just leaving it down to my management at the minute, ideally I’d like to get it sorted in the next few weeks. But in the meantime I’m fully focused on starting round one well and having a good year with the Knights.”

Warrington youngster loaned out

League 1 club North Wales Crusaders have signed young back Josh Lynch on a season-long loan from Super League side Warrington for the 2023 campaign.

He made his debut in their game against Dewsbury on Sunday.

Lynch said: “I’m grateful to have been given the opportunity to play for the club. I feel like it’ll be a great chance to improve my skill set and better myself as a rugby player. Living in Colwyn Bay, I’m familiar with the home pitch, so having the chance to play on it in front of the home crowd will be a great experience.”

A special moment for the Hodgson family

There was a lovely moment on Friday when Newcastle Knights young gun Bailey Hodgson came up against his uncle Josh Hodgson of Parramatta Eels in a pre-season trial match.

It was Josh who got the bragging rights thanks to a 36-14 victory for the Eels!

The 32-year-old winger featured in a pre-season trial match for the Newtown Jets at the weekend, the feeder club for Cronulla Sharks.

Mansour told CODE Sports: “There’s nothing official just yet, but I’ll hopefully get all that wrapped up next week and we’ll go from there. I definitely want to get a top 30 contract if I can. There’s a lot of background chat that I’m trying to block out, but I still love the game and I’m not ready to throw in the towel.”

Watch: Levi’s try for Canberra

Samoa international Danny Levi finished off a lovely move for Canberra in a 36-4 defeat to Wests Tigers on Sunday.

The hooker linked up with the Raiders on a two-year deal following an impressive season in Super League with Huddersfield.
