Wigan provide latest on Bevan French contract

French, 26, is off-contract with the Challenge Cup winners at the end of the current campaign.

Transfer movements

There has been plenty of transfer movements across Super League and Championship this week.

Alex Mellor has made the immediate move from Leeds to Castleford on a two-and-a-half-year deal. Ireland international Oliver Roberts has joined Newcastle Thunder following his release from Huddersfield. Featherstone have added both Jack Broadbent and Jack Ashworth on loan from the Rhinos and Huddersfield respectively.

Meanwhile, Hull FC coach Brett Hodgson confirmed that marquee half-back Josh Reynolds is set to leave the club with immediate effect.

Mal Meninga to appear at St Helens

Mal Meninga has been confirmed as a guest speaker for the Rugby League World Cup St Helens and Liverpool Business Breakfast event on Thursday 30 June at the Totally Wicked Stadium. (St Helens Star)

The Australia head coach will be joined by St Helens captain Jodie Cunningham and England Captain Emily Rudge to talk all things RLWC2021.Β 

Kruise Leeming hoping to have impressed England boss

Leeming told the Yorkshire Post: “I love those games and think I perform better in them. There are still some things for me to work on but hopefully what I have done is shown him that I don’t crumble on the big stage.”

RFL announces profit of more than Β£1million

The Rugby Football League has announced it made a profit of Β£1million in 2021, its first since 2016.
