Pryce becomes a head coach

Mirfield ARLFC have appointed Karl Pryce as their new head coach.

He will be joined by Brad Delaney as joint-head coach of the amateur side.

Pryce enjoyed nearly 200 career games featuring for Bradford, Wigan, Harlequins, Bradford and Dewsbury.

Rhyse Martin hailed

The goal-kicking back-rower looks set to return to Australia to be with family. He learnt of the news just days before the club’s opening tie with Warrington.

Donaldson told Leeds Live: “All the boys are trying to look after him (Rhyse Martin) as best we can, but obviously what he did on the field against Warrington was unbelievable.

“It just shows you what a tough player and resilient character he is.

“What he did after the tough week he’s had was amazing.”

Leeds chief on Bentley ban

The forward saw his three-match ban increase to four games following a disciplinary tribunal.

Bentley was sent off during the Rhinos’ 22-20 defeat at home to Warrington on Saturday, following a high tackle on Gareth Widdop.

Head coach Brett Hodgson told Hull Daily Mail that he is hoping to see centres Carlos Tuimavave and Josh Griffin return to the field this weekend.

Hull KR forward Frankie Halton believes that a lot of talented players are missed in the lower leagues of the sport.

He told Love Rugby League: “I think there’s so much talent that goes missing.

“I remember in the Leigh reserve squad, there’s so many players who aren’t even playing now and went under the radar who were great players back then.”
