Are four matches in a day too much?

After the news came that the Challenge Cup Final would be returning to Wembley in 2023, so came the news that the Women’s Challenge Cup Final would also be added to the programme.

This means that on one Wembley afternoon, we will have the Year 7 Champion Schools Final, the Women’s Challenge Cup Final, the Men’s Challenge Cup Final and the 1895 Cup Final.

Editor James Gordon makes the argument that that is too many games in one day.

  1. Sorry Mr Myler, you played seven times for England. You made your choice. Just because you now want to play in a world cup can’t change that choice you made.
Never mind that there is Irish lineage, the die was set when you pulled on England’s shirt.
I’ve got Saxon blood in my family tree, it’s about three thousand generations ago, but by your rules I can be eligible for one of the Northern European countries.
Get real son, you had your day. It’s someone else’s turn now.
But I suspect whichever team, it’ll be full of Aussies.
