Maurice Lindsay remembered after funeral in Wigan

Former Wigan chairman and RFL chief executive Maurice Lindsay’s funeral was in Wigan on Thursday. Lindsay died aged 81 three weeks ago.

Former Wigan winger and Sky Sports presenter Brian Carney as well as current Wigan Head Coach Matt Peet were among those to carry the coffin into St Mary’s Church.

Lee Radford quiet on Leeds pair

Castleford Head Coach Lee Radford refused to comment on speculation linking the club with Leeds pair Alex Mellor  and Jack Broadbent. (Yorkshire Evening Post).

Radford said: “At present they are obviously Leeds players and I think it would be wrong of me to comment on anybody who hasn’t been announced, or they haven’t announced where they are going.”

Tony Smith expecting Saints to be wary of former player

Hull KR Head Coach Tony Smith believes St Helens will be wary of former player Lachlan Coote when they play on Sunday. (Hull Live).

Smith said: “He was great for them but they will also be wary of what he could do to them. The fans and players know his capabilities, and he will be ready if he attracts some extra attention. Lachlan and all of us are ready for the challenge ahead.”

Rohan Smith has brought togetherness to Leeds

Leeds forward Cameron Smith says new Head Coach Rohan Smith has brought a togetherness back to the club.

“I think Rohan’s brought the togetherness back to the group,” the 23-year-old told Leeds Live. “Everybody wants to jump on board with how he wants to play and he is allowing us to express ourselves.”

Huddersfield full-back Will Pryce has revealed talks with roommate Olly Russell before the Challenge Cup Final. Both were rated at 50/5o to play. (Daily Mirror).

Pryce told Daily Mirror: “We were also roommates in London and we spoke on the Thursday. I just said if ‘you’re not 100 per cent don’t push for it but I’d rather you play than me.’ I said we’re mates before teammates and he’d been killing it all year. He told me if he wasn’t 100 percent he’d give me the nod but he’d try and do everything he could to play. He did and came through really well- he had a good game.”

Keighley confirm arrival of Eddy Pettybourne

Keighley Cougars have confirmed that new signing Eddy Pettybourne has arrived in the country. He signed a deal until the end of the 2023 season.

If selected on Sunday, St Helens hooker James Roby will officially become Super League’s all-time record appearance holder. He will overtake Kevin Sinfield’s record of 454.
