Wakefield release statement following 102-0 defeat

Wakefield Trinity have released a statement following their 102-0 defeat to the Ladies side against Warrington.

Club CEO Michael Carter said that the club tried to rearrange the fixture due to a lack of players – but could not come to an agreement. It meant loaning in six players from Bradford and promoting four more from their Under-19s.

Carter also revealed that they have lost players to rival clubs this year – with no regulations on transfers between teams. 

Luke Keary commits to Ireland

Hirst to boost LGBT inclusion

Keegan Hirst has come out of retirement to join Batley Bulldogs for the remainder of the current season.

He became the first British professional rugby league player to come out as gay. 

Hirst said the decision to continue his career was to “help with visibility and inclusion” in rugby league.
