Eagles boss trying to get Thackeray to reverse retirement decision

Sheffield half-back Anthony Thackeray has said Head Coach Mark Aston is trying to get him to reverse his retirement decision. (Sheffield Star).

Thackeray told Sheffield Star: “We had a text conversation not long ago and he said ‘another 12 months’. I sent a few laughing emojis and said ‘I’ll be watching from the stands’.

“He’s obviously going to have a conversation with me but, as I told him, it’s my last year.”

Darnell McIntosh: St Helens “not unbeatable.”

Hull winger Darnell McIntosh believes league leaders St Helens are not unbeatable, as they prepare to face them in their next Super League match in a fortnight’s time. (Hull Live).

McIntosh told Hull Live: “We’ve built some good relationships and combinations, so we just need to be confident because I don’t think St Helens are unbeatable at all. We need to use this time to take a step away but, as soon as we come back, beating Saints has to be the target.”
