Danny Orr to leave Salford

Salford assistant coach Danny Orr will leave the club at the end of the season. (Examiner Live).

Orr joined the club as an assistant to Richard Marshall in 2021. He had previously been an assistant at Castleford prior to Daryl Powell’s departure.

Muizz Mustapha tight-lipped on future

Leeds forward Muizz Mustapha is keen to work hard, and earn a new contract at the club. (Rugby League Live).

Mustapha, who crossed for his first try for the club in Thursday’s win over Wigan, is out of contract at the end of 2022.

Eddie Jones’ NRL dream

England rugby union Head Coach Eddie Jones has told people in his inner circle that he wants to coach South Sydney Rabbitohs  in the future. (Sydney Morning Herald)

Jones, who has never shied away from his love for the Rabbitohs, is out of contract with England in November 2023.

Matt Dufty arrives at Warrington

New Warrington full-back Matt Dufty has arrived at Warrington, and has started training with his new club.

Dufty signed for the Wire from NRL side Canterbury earlier this week.

James Segeyaro given NRL lifeline

Former NRL and Super League hooker James Segeyaro has been included in Manly’s NRL squad to take on Sydney Roosters on Thursday.

He is one of several players to get a chance. Seven players chose to boycott the match over Manly’s Everyone in League jersey, which includes a rainbow flag.

Rangi Chase shuts down retirement rumours

Former Super League Man of Steel Rangi Chase has shut down any suggestion he is about to retire.

The 36-year-old is currently playing in League One with Rochdale. He said on Twitter that he will carry on until he feels he can no longer perform.

Trivia

Danny Orr played over 400 career games for Castleford, Wigan and Harlequins before moving into coaching. He has also had a short time in charge of Castleford on an interim basis, following the departure of Ian Millward.
