Hull KR full-back Lachlan Coote has ruled himself out of representing Scotland at the upcoming World Cup. (Hull Live)

The 32-year-old has suffered several concussion injuries in 2022 which has resulted in him having to withdraw from playing at the World Cup, according to Hull Live.

Australia-born Coote qualifies to play for Scotland through his grandmother, who was born in Glasgow. He has already won three caps for Scotland and has also represented Great Britain.

Miloudi finds new club

Albi have signed France international centre Hakim Miloudi for the upcoming French Elite 1 Championship season.

The 29-year-old will depart Barrow at the end of the Championship season to return to his French homeland with his family.

Murrell lands coaching gig

The recently retired Scott Murrell will remain at Keighley in 2023 as an assistant to head coach Rhys Lovegrove.

The 37-year-old has hung up his boots after making more than 400 appearances for Leeds, Hull KR, Halifax and Keighley across a 20-year playing career.

Murrell said: “This is only the start for the Keighley Cougars, and we know we can make our mark next season in the Championship.”

Campese plays final game

Former Australia and Italy international half-back Terry Campese has officially hung up his boots, aged 38.

The veteran playmaker made more than 160 first-grade appearances for Canberra Raiders and Hull KR.

Campese was part of the Australia squad that reached the World Cup final in 2008. He later won three caps for Italy, representing his Italian heritage at the 2017 World Cup.

Hull KR youngster earns international call-up

Okoro told Hull Live: “I was born in Nigeria but have lived in England a long time now, so to be able to represent my country is a great honour, and me and my family are so proud.”

Scotland star commits to London

Scotland international full-back Alex Walker has penned a new deal with London Broncos for the 2023 season.

The 27-year-old has won seven caps for Scotland and will likely fill the full-back void left by Coote for Scotland at this year’s World Cup.

Former New Zealand, Leigh, Hull and Widnes hooker Aaron Heremaia turns 40 today (September 19).

Also celebrating; ex-Leeds man Marcus Vassilakopoulos (47) and former Ireland international Michael Haley (35).

Trivia

Leeds have reached their first Grand Final since 2017, when they beat Castleford 24-6 at Old Trafford thanks to tries from Tom Briscoe (2) and Danny McGuire (2).
