Brad Dwyer to St Helens?

Super League champions St Helens are set to sign Leeds hooker Brad Dwyer from next season, according to Sky Sports reporter Jenna Brooks.

The 29-year-old, who is from Wigan, is out of contract at the end of the season. Dwyer is likely to fill the void left by James Roby, who is set to retire at the end of the year.

Hull KR linked with Wakefield forward

Sky Sports reporter Jenna Brooks also revealed that Hull KR are poised to bring in James Batchelor from Super League rivals Wakefield.

The 24-year-old is out of contract at the end of this year. Batchelor came through the ranks at Trinity and has made almost 100 appearances for the club.

Warrington recruitment latest

Warrington chairman Stuart Middleton says ‘announcements will be made very soon’ in regards to announcements of new signings and contract extensions (Warrington Guardian)

In his column for Warrington Guardian, Middleton wrote: “Recruitment for 2023 is going well despite the market and player availability becoming more difficult both at home and overseas. We will have a balance of new recruits from the NRL and Super League, contract extensions and promotions from within.”

Houghton on retirement plans

Hull hooker Danny Houghton has opened up on his future, and says he is treating this year as though it is his last although he hasn’t confirmed retirement just yet. (Hull Live)

The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season. He told Hull Live: “This is the honest answer: I’m actually just enjoying performing and treating it like it could be my last season.

Wigan coach on Bibby & Charnley speculation

Wigan head coach Matt Peet has responded to speculation surrounding off-contract pair Jake Bibby and Josh Charnley.

Bibby has been linked with a move to Huddersfield for next year. Former Wigan star Josh Charnley will leave Warrington at the end of the season.
