Wakefield have confirmed that former French international hooker Julien Rinaldi will remain at the club until the end of the season.

Julien, who has previously played for Catalans Dragons, Harlequins and Bradford Bulls, joined the Wildcats on loan from French club Villeneuve Leopards prior to Wakefield’s fixture against the Dragons in Perpignan last month.

Rinaldi, 31, is the player-coach at Villeneuve Leopards and he has received clearance from them to remain with Wakefield.

Julien said: “I’m very happy at Wakefield and to stay with them until the end of Super League XV.”

John Kear, the Wildcats’ Head Coach, said: “Julien has fitted well into the squad at Belle Vue and I’m very pleased that he has agreed remain with us.

“He has been a great addition to our squad and helps us maintain competition for first team places.”
