Riley returns to Warrington

Winger Chris Riley has cut short his loan-spell at Harlequins and returned to Warrington.

Riley, 23, moved south for an initial month deal, making three appearances, and scored two tries on his debut against Castleford, but has returned north due to personal matters.

Head coach Rob Powell said: “Unfortunately Chris has gone back to Warrington. He enjoyed his time down here and wanted to stay but he has some family issues, which meant he had to return.

“I spoke to Tony Smith and Chris himself and he’s been very honest all the way through. He really wanted it to work and we wanted him for the rest of the season but this is the reality. If you bring someone in from up North, these kinds of things can happen sometimes.”
