Rhinos’ preparation key for Ablett

Leeds back rower Carl Ablett believes that proper preparation is crucial to the Rhinos’ chances of winning at London Broncos this weekend.

The Rhinos travel to the capital for the clash on Saturday afternoon at Trailfinders Sports Club in Ealing, and Ablett was impressed with the Broncos in their 76-16 hammering of Batley last week.

“Looking at the result, and seeing the amount of points that they put on a decent Batley team, obviously they can attack,” he told Rhinos TV.

“I’m sure as the week progresses now we’ll have a good look at the video, formulate a gameplan, look at strengths, and weaknesses we can exploit.

“But you can’t not be impressed when they post that many points on any team.

“They can clearly play a bit.”

The pitch at Ealing is artificial, and Leeds have been training on the 4G facility at Kirkstall, in order to get used to the conditions.

“It’s all down to preparation,” he said.

“It’s not normal to go down to London and get on the coach for four hours, and then playing on an artificial surface.

“I’m sure we’ll have a good week prepping. It’ll be important, that prep that we do.

“The mindset and the mentality that we’ve had these last two weeks has been good, so hopefully we can continue that.”
