Rhinos pick experienced pack for Lazenby Cup

Leeds forwards Kylie Leuluai and Ryan Bailey will get their first hit-ups of the season this weekend, as they are named in the Rhinos’ Lazenby Cup side.

Leuluai, 35, and Bailey, 30, have been picked in Brian McDermott’s line-up for the traditional pre-season clash with Hunslet.

Brad Singleton, Mitch Achurch and Chris Clarkson, who all spent time on dual registration at the Hawks last season, will also be out to prove their match fitness at South Leeds Stadium.

With less than a month to go until the new campaign, McDermott sees Sunday’s match as a good test for his squad.

“We have got plenty of experience in the forwards,” he said.

“And the likes of Ash Handley, Josh Walters and Ben White will be playing their third pre-season game, so will be feeling the benefit of that game time.”
