RFL suspend Silverwood

The RFL have suspended Super League referee Richard Silverwood, according to The Times.nnThe newspaper reports that Silverwood has been suspended because of an alleged breach of their ‘Information Technology Policy’.nnAn injury was the explanation for his exclusion from the opening round of Super League, despite video refereeing the re-arranged Round 3 fixture between Celtic Crusaders and Leeds Rhinos.nnAn investigation has been launched to clarify Silverwood’s position, who has allegedly supplied details of information about fellow full-time referees to a third party company.nnSilverwood, 32, who is from Mirfield, refereed his first top flight game in 2001, while also being named the National League referee in the same year.nnHe has also had the honour of refereeing the 2006 Challenge Cup Final contested between St Helens and Huddersfield, which also earnt him the prestigious honour of being named ‘Referee of the Year’.
