RFL issues bans

Catalan Dragons centre Krisnan Inu has been banned for three games and Huddersfield utility Joe Wardle has been suspended for two games following Sunday’s match.

Inu pleaded guilty for making a Grade D dangerous throw on Huddersfield Giants player Eorl Crabtree in the 22nd minute of the First Utility Super League Round 6 game at John Smith’s Stadium on Sunday March 20. He was also fined £300.

Wardle has been banned for two matches for making a Grade C high tackle on Catalans Dragons forward Remi Casty in the 50th minute of the same fixture. Wardle, who pleaded guilty, was also fined £300.

Castleford Tigers player Matt Cook was suspended for two matches for Grade B dangerous contact on Warrington Wolves player Brad Dwyer in the 68th minute of the First Utility Super League Round 6 fixture at Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday March 18. Cook, who pleaded guilty, was also fined £300.

Wes Naiqama of London Broncos has been banned for three matches for Grade D dangerous contact on Luke Adamson of Dewsbury Rams in the 69th minute of the Kingstone Press Championship Round 6 game at Ealing Trailfinders on Saturday March 12. Naiqama, who pleaded guilty, was also fined £100.

Rochdale Hornets player Stuart Biscombe was suspended for one match for making a Grade B dangerous throw on Coventry Bears player Ben Warrilow in the 38th minute of the Kingstone Press League 1 Round 2 fixture at Butts Park Arena on Sunday March 13. Biscombe, who pleaded not guilty, was also fined £75.

The following players took the option of an Early Guilty Plea:

·         Mike Morrison (Swinton Lions) – Grade B – punching – Two match suspension

 The RFL Match Review Panel also issued cautions to the following players:

·         Jordan Tansey (Huddersfield Giants) – dangerous throw on Krisnan Inu of Catalans Dragons in the 70th minute;

·         Sam Powell (Wigan Warriors) – dangerous contact in the 2nd minute on Setaimata Sa of Widnes Vikings;

·         Matty Smith (Wigan Warriors) – tripping Rhys Hanbury of Widnes Vikings in the 51st minute.
