RFL Conference Challenge Trophy Draw

Correspondent

Holders Leigh Miners Rangers will start their defence of the RFL Conference Challenge Trophy with a trip to East Hull.

Their contest on the east coast is just one of two all Premier Division clashes in round one, with Egremont Rangers having home advantage against Skirlaugh on Saturday May 31.

The draw – which was conducted at last night’s National Conference League club meeting – also produced several other interesting looking ties, including a Wakefield derby between Normanton Knights and Stanley Rangers, plus divisional rivals meeting as Waterhead play Ovenden and Wigan St Cuthberts host Blackbrook.

Last season’s runners-up Wigan St Patricks will be happy with a trip to Halifax to play Division Two Elland, and NCL Champions West Hull will also hit the road when they travel to Dewsbury Celtic.

The final will again take place as part of the Championship Finals day which this year will take place on Sunday October 5.
