Red Star won their second Serbian Challenge Cup with a 56-6 victory over arch rivals Partizan at the Makis Stadium in Belgrade.

The Red and Whites remain unbeaten in 2018.

Red Star started strong and went into the break leading 34-6 after scoring six tries in the first half

Partizan’s Serbia international Pero Madzarevic was sin-binned in the 25th minute and, in his absence, Red Star raced from a ten-point lead to a 28-0 advantage, with Jack O’Brien and former Scotland Under-20 international Sam Harron both scoring twice to add to tries from Stefan Nedeljkovic and Milos Calic.

Serbia’s top point scorer Vladimir Milutinovic’s converted try just before the break proved to be the only solace for Partizan as Red Star completed a fourth successive derby win going into the summer break.

Red Star captain Vojislav Dedic is delighted with the Serbian Challenge Cup win.

He said: “The boys enjoyed today and we were clinical from the start.

“It is a great way to end this part of the season and we are already looking forward to maintaining this historic run after the break.”
