Reardon ready for testimonial

Stuart Reardon‘s 17-year career will celebrated thid Saturday when North Wales Crusaders take on his junior club West Bowling as part of his testimonial.

The outside back is retiring at the end of this season and has been granted a testimonial by the RFL.

Reardon’s current club North Wales face West Bowling at 2pm at Wrexham, along with a series of junior matches, a beer festival and events starting from 11am.

Reardon played five times for Great Britain and won a Super League grand final in 2003 with Bradford and a World Club Challenge with the Bulls in 2004.

He also won the Harry Sunderland Trophy at Old Trafford in 2003.

The fullback’s career took in stops at Salford, Warrington, the Crusaders and in France with AC Carcassonne.

The 34-year old has scored 79 tries in 222 games.

“I thought it would be fitting to play my old amateur side and I’m giving 15 per cent of the gate back to the Crusaders Supporters Trust,” Reardon told The Bradford Telegraph & Argus.

“It should be a good day.”
