Rea expecting Gower return

London coach Tony Rea is expecting former Australia half-back Craig Gower back for the Easter weekend.

Gower, 34, sat out the 18-all draw against Hull with a groin injury, but is in contention for a return on Thursday night against Catalan, which is the first of three games in eight days for the Broncos.

Rea said: “We didn’t have Craig Gower as he had a groin issue from last week. If he was fit he would have played, but he should be back for our Easter games.

Without the former Penrith man, London looked set to record a first home win of the season against the Airlie Birds, only to be denied by a converted try at the death.

Rea added: “It’s hard to say we’re happy with a point.

“Having said that, we left nothing out there and the spirit of the team along with the enthusiasm and the effort was everything you want to see.

“I’m only disappointed because Hull scored a last minute try, and it’s then that you start feeling like we should have won. It was a contest from start to finish with both teams fighting all the way.”

After hosting Catalan on Thursday, London then travel to face Warrington on Monday.
