Former Hull, Crusaders, Bradford and Great Britain winger Gareth Raynor has left Featherstone Rovers by mutual consent and retired from the professional game.

Raynor Said: ‘I would just like to thank the Featherstone fans for their support I have received since joining the club, I enjoyed my time at the club since I returned and was proud to have put on the Fev shirt, score a few tries and run Wigan close.’

‘It is by mutual agreement that I leave Fev on good terms. I struggled to be able to fully motivate myself for championship rugby so I think its only fair I step down and give some young lad a chance (Tom Carr) deserves a proper shot.’

‘I’m finally taking the boots off for good and would also like to thank fans at all the clubs I was lucky enough to play for Hull FC, Crusaders and Bradford.’

Featherstone are set to take on Batley at Mount Pleasant on Sunday (May 13th, 2pm).
