Warrington’s Stefan Ratchford is facing three months on the sidelines after suffering a shoulder injury.

Ratchford, 23, joined the club from Salford in the close season, but was forced off in Friday’s Super League defeat at Leeds.

The Wolves have confirmed that the utility back will undergo surgery tonight (Tuesday) and is expected to be out for up to 12 weeks.

Ratchford has played in all six of Warrington’s Super League games so far, featuring three times at full back, once at stand-off and twice off the bench.

He made his Super League debut back in 2007 for Salford, in a 27-26 loss against St Helens, and went on to play more than 100 games for the Reds before signing for Warrington in the close season.
