Rankin set for surgery

Hull FC halfback Jordan Rankin is set for a short lay-off, as he is about to undergo surgery on a knee problem.

The injury was sustained during last week’s draw with Castleford Tigers, with Rankin leaving the KC Stadium on crutches after the game.

Surgery will be required on the player’s torn meniscus.

Hull coach Lee Radford anticipates that the player will be back in action for the game against Bradford Bulls on August 17.

“Jordan is likely to miss the next two to three weeks, but with Richard Horne coming back, it couldn’t have been better timing bringing a bloke back in with his experience,” Radford told the Hull Daily Mail.

“Obviously the cup fixtures give us a couple of weeks off and he’ll miss this week’s game, but probably be back for the Bradford Bulls game.”
