Rangi Chase will remain a Castleford player after talks over a move to the NRL broke down.

Chase, 26, who saw a move to Hull FC break down earlier this year due to visa issues, failed to agree terms with St George-Illawarra Dragons, and is now committed to the Tigers.

Castleford chief executive Steve Ferres said: “We are delighted that the situation has been resolved and we are looking forward to seeing him regain the form that led to him being crowned Man of Steel in 2011.

“Having spoken to Rangi he is happy to be staying at the club and is meeting with the Castleford physio today to assess his groin injury so he can be ready for the pre-season friendlies in January.”

The New Zealand born England international has scored 39 tries in 103 appearances for Castleford since arriving in 2009.

He previously played for St George and Wests Tigers in the NRL.
