Chad Randall will make his 100th consecutive appearance for Harlequins when he takes to the field against Wigan on Friday night.

The 28-year-old hooker has not missed a game in over three and a half years and was today named in the 19 man Harlequins squad that will travel to the JJB Stadium on Friday.

Also named in head coach Brian McDermott’s side is Australian second-rower Chad Robinson who has been out of action since May following knee surgery. Jason Golden will miss the trip to Wigan after picking up an ankle injury in training.

After a sweltering week which has seen the temperature creep over 30°C at the Harlequins training ground, McDermott said the player will be grateful for an evening kick-off in Wigan.

“Playing at Wakefield last weekend on such a hot afternoon took a lot of juice out of us, especially with the amount of defending we had to do.”

He added: “If the weather keeps up like this I think a lot of people will be pleased it’s an evening kick off and not just the players but the fans too.”

Speaking about Friday’s opponents, McDermott said he expects a tough, fast match: “Wigan have had a difficult few weeks, but I don’t think that will make a jot of difference on how they approach playing us.

“Like us, they’re after a playoff place, and won’t be setting out to get one over us, just as we aren’t looking for revenge.”
