Rams Secure Promotion

Dewsbury lost out to Batley Bulldogs in the League One promotion play-off last season but made sure of promotion finishing atop League Two this time around.

However the Rams had to avoid an upset at the hands of Workington, who held the lead at the interval.

The visitors held a 16-8 lead after the first forty thanks to tries from Rob Lunt, Martyn Wilson and Stephen Dawes but were kept scoreless in the second half.

The Rams hit back with tries from Richard Chapman, Luke Haigh, Ian Preece, Andy Bostock and Darren Rogers along with five goals from Liam Finn.

That was enough to seal the win and start the promotion party for Dewsbury.
