Raleigh close to Wildcats return

Wakefield prop Andy Raleigh has returned to full training and could be in contention for a spot in the Wildcats squad to face Castleford this weekend.

Raleigh, 32, has been missing since the early stages of the defeat to Catalan last month.

He said: “I’m glad to be back in full training and hopefully I’m not too far away from playing once again.

“It’s always frustrating when you’re injured, especially us going so close against teams like Salford and we should have won that one.

“I’m really looking forward to get playing, I felt as though I was playing and getting into form but that’s the nature of the game and I got a knock. I had to deal with it and do as much training as I could although I wasn’t with the full squad so when you come back you’re in some kind of shape.

“You’re here to do a job and if you’re not able to play you feel as if you’re not doing your job. The aim is to get back as soon as you can and to stay back which means not pushing yourself too early. Fingers crossed that’s going to be back sooner rather than later.”
