Raiders unchanged for Panthers clash

Canberra coach David Furner has named an unchanged line-up for Saturday’s preliminary final clash with Penrith

Hooker Travis Waddell has been cleared of a fractured jaw and will take his place on the bench for the game at CUA Stadium.

Club captain Alan Tongue remains out of action due to his calf injury.

Explained coach Furner: “Alan’s made some good progress but at this stage it’s very doubtful that he would be ready for Saturday,” Furner said. “Travis has been cleared of any damage to his jaw and he’ll be right to play that back up dummy half role for us.”

Meanwhile, the Raiders have received a further boost with the news that forward Danny Galea has signed a new one-year deal.

Added Furner: “Danny has been in tremendous form of late and he’s making it really hard to leave him out of the squad each week and he deserves his spot.”

“He’s a hard worker and a great club man and we’re happy to have him secured for another year.”
