Radford wrapt for Abdull

Hull FC coach Lee Radford has praised the performance of Jordan Abdull in the dominant victory over Widnes.

Abdull was only selected to play in the halves 24 hours before after Marc Sneyd picked up an injury in training.

The stand-off scored a try and was impressive in the 0-38 win.

“I am chuffed for him,” Radford told Sky Sports.

“The speccies have got a song for him as well. Jordan Abdull he loves his kebabs so he is over the moon with that.

“That’s possibly the worst one I’ve ever heard in my entire career.

“I am pleased. We have got a tough challenge next week in Catalan leading up to a Challenge Cup as well so it’s good times.”

Radford was glad to see his team get their Super 8s campaign off the mark after a disappointing defeat to Castleford last time out.

“I think we were good for the result,” he said.

“They’re pretty busted and was busted leading into the game and we were aware of that, but I thought we turned up with the right attitude for sure.

“I was really disappointed with last week’s performance.

“It was a short turnaround from Wigan but we looked more fatigued than we should have.

“We got our eights off to a start tonight and hopefully we’re going to kick on now.
