Radford unfazed by Hull friendly call-off

Hull FC coach Lee Radford is relatively unworried by the fact that his team’s friendly against York City Knights was called off at the weekend.

Although acknowledging that he was sad that players like Lee Smith missed the chance to get out on the park, Radford insisted that preparations for the new season would continue this week.

“I’m sure Lee (Smith) would have liked to have played, and I’m sure most of the boys who were selected would have done,” Radford told the Hull Daily Mail.

“But we can’t mess about with nature, it’s just a fact of life. We aren’t too concerned about it. The game was cancelled and now we have moved on and the pre-season continues and we’ll prepare as normal for Doncaster.”
