Radford says defence can still improve

Hull FC boss Lee Radford believes his team can still improve defensively despite comfortably seeing off Widnes Vikings on Friday.

The Arlie Birds made it four wins out of five with a 32-12 victory over the Vikings to set up a mouth-watering clash at Wigan Warriors next weekend.

“First and foremost I’m pleased with the result – how we started the second half went a long way towards dictating the scoreline,” he told Hull FC Live.

“I’m pleased with the way we went about our business.

“We knew Widnes would come here scrapping for a win, so to come away with the result is really pleasing.

“Everything we do is around our defence so to have the best record in the league is really pleasing.

“But we’re going to have to be even better next week because Wigan are good coming forward.”

“Wigan at Wigan is a tough fixture and it’s one we’re looking forward to.”
