Hull FC coach Lee Radford was delighted to see his side stand up and be counted in a big match like the derby.

The Airlie Birds moved back to the top of the table after a comprehensive victory against Rovers.

“I am pleased with the result, performance-wise last week I didn’t think we were far off but a lot of the players looked like their old selves tonight,” he told Sky Sports.

“That’s a credit to them because this is a big challenge, this game in particular with everything that they had riding on it.

“It was always going to be a tough game but the way we went about our business I was really pleased.

“We defended our try line again really well in that early period. To come out at the other end and put the points on when we did was really pleasing.

“I am really pleased for the boys.”
