Hull FC coach Lee Radford has admitted that his club have had to use more youngsters then they planned to at the start of 2015.

Nevertheless, he is very pleased with the way that the young players he has used have played, despite them losing their last game 34-20 against Huddersfield.

FC have also won only one of their last seven games.

“We’ve blooded more youngsters than we would’ve liked, but they have shown up and showed what they’re about,” Radford told BBC Humberside.

“With a little bit more quality coming in we will turn these losses into wins.”

Hull finished the regular season in eighth place in Super League, and Radford believes that his side have improved from last year.

“Of course we’ve made progress, we weren’t in the top eight last year and this year we are,” the coach added.

“When our best 17 have been on the park we’ve been a match for anybody.”
