Radford looking for 80 minute display from Hull at Wigan

Hull FC coach Lee Radford wants his players to recall their form of the first two rounds of Super League when they travel to Wigan on Friday evening.

The Airlie Birds suffered a second-half battering last week at the KC Stadium against Leeds, losing the game 43-12 after leading 12-0 at half-time.

Radford wants his players to recapture the form they showed in beating Huddersfield and losing narrowly to Warrington earlier in the season.

“The challenge for us is simple, we must replicate the desire and eighty minute performances we produced in rounds one and two,” he told his club’s official website.

“In both those fixtures we gave ourselves every chance of taking the result, by starting the game well to give us a strong foothold in the match, and continuing to pressure the opposition. When we do that we’ll win more games than we lose.

“We weren’t at it in the game against Salford and we got the result we deserved. That is nobody’s fault but our own, because we had prepared in the right manner and went into that match confident.

“In the second half against Leeds the effects of having a number of men playing through injuries and the fatigue caught up with us massively.

“However we have the chance to bounce back from those performances against a top side in Wigan, and we are desperate to return to the form we showed against Huddersfield and Warrington.
