Radford “the happiest coach” in Super League

Hull coach Lee Radford says he is probably the happiest coach in the competition at the moment.

The Airlie Birds opened up a four point cushion to fifth place with an 8-6 win over St Helens on Friday night to consolidate their play-off place.

They have now won four straight games ahead of this Friday’s Super 8s clash with Huddersfield and the upcoming Challenge Cup final against Wigan.

Radford said: “We’re on a bit of a run now, and then we’ve got the cup final as well. I’m probably the happiest coach in the competition at the moment on the back end of that.

“I really am pleased. Friday was a huge win. It’s the ugliest prettiest result I’ve probably ever got, so it’s just credit to the players who focused on the fixture and its importance.”
