Radford delighted that Kiwi remains at Hull
Hull FC coach Lee Radford is very pleased that New Zealand-born three-quarter Fetuli Talanoa is staying with his club for another year.
Radford believes that the powerful winger or centre has been a reliable performer in an otherwise inconsistent FC side during 2014.
“He has been a real find for us this season, and I don’t think there is a better winger in the competition at finding your side a ruck win when he is returning the ball,” said the Hull coach.
“He is the type of player you want to get your sets rolling, and he is the type of winger that your forwards can really appreciate.
“He has played every game for us this season and that doesn’t happen by chance, the consistency and reliability that he has shown throughout the season has impressed me a great deal.”
Talanoa, who has represented Tonga at international level, has scored six tries in 19 games this season, and has been ever-present in Super League for the Airlie Birds.
The 26-year-old has inked a new deal which runs until the end of the 2015 campaign.
“He has been a real asset this year and is a great individual to have around the training ground, we are confident his form will continue to flourish as it has done all season,” Radford added.
“He came to us as a bit of a gamble but one that has certainly paid off. He has proved his worth this season and has been one of our top three performers across the season. He certainly deserves an extension.”
