Radford bemoans defensive woes

Hull coach Lee Radford admitted his team are suffering a lack of confidence after conceding over 50 points for the second home game in a row on Friday.

Leeds’ 52-24 victory dropped Hull to fifth in the table, five points behind Super League leaders Castleford.

“Conceding 50 at home is the most frustrating thing, but we don’t have time to mope about it,” said Radford.

“More important now is Monday’s game at Leigh. I wish we could play tomorrow. That was a chance for us to go second. There are a lot of issues with defence but this is our dip, our rut.

“We had the best defence four weeks ago, but the confidence factor is unbelievable. It’s just not happening for us and we look a shell of ourselves.”
