Harlequins have snapped up Australian Michael Robertson from Manly Warringah Sea Eagles for the 2012 season.

The 28-year-old has been with the NRL club since 2006 and Rob Powell is pleased to have added him to his squad.

“Michael is a proven try scorer and he is coming whilst in good form and in the prime of his career. He will add leadership in the dressing room and class on the field and we’re looking forward to welcoming him to the club.”

Robertson added: “While leaving Manly is a very tough decision, I’m really excited about the next phase of my career.

“I’ve always wanted to play in England and felt it was important I went over while I was in good form and playing well.

“Harlequins RL is a club on the rise and I’ve have heard nothing but great things about their set-up.

“I look forward to enjoying plenty of success there.”
