Harlequins forward Chad Robinson has been released from his contract by mutual consent as a result of a recurrent knee injury.

The 29 year old Australian signed for Harlequins from NRL side Parramatta Eels and made his debut in February 2009 against Castleford.

However, his appearances at second row were restricted by a recurrent knee injury which twice saw him undergo surgery during the season.

Harlequins head coach, Brian McDermott, said: “In his short time with us, Chad bought into everything the club is trying to achieve. He is one of those players that put their hands up for work when the going gets tough.

“Chad and his family return to Australia with the very best wishes of the London Rugby League community.”
