Quins looking to end losing run

Harlequins will still be without seven players for this weekend’s clash with St Helens, as they look to end a run of five defeats.

Quins’ recent collapse has threatened to undo their superb first half to the season, with them losing five on the bounce since the 40-10 win away at Hull KR in June.

They lost last weekend against Catalans and were missing seven players through injury, including the inspirational Danny Orr and previous ever-present Chad Randall.

Head Coach Brian McDermott told the club’s official website: “We certainly haven’t got a fully fit team, but we have got a team of men out there who consistently, week in week out, will put their body where it hurts.”

“All the guys we have had out have been doing what they can in training. They’re not the sort who are going to have too much of a problem with weights or conditioning.

“I daresay they’ve been sneaking their own sessions in even thought our strength and conditioning coach, Billy Peden, will have been setting them limits. I know that Danny Orr and Chad Randall will be flogging themselves away from the club so I have no issues with them not returning fit.”

“Following Catalans that’s five we’ve lost on the bounce now, we know that win is going to come and more importantly, the performance which we’ll be able to take into the following weeks. Momentum will come to us soon, I can guarantee that, and hopefully at the right time.”
