Quinlan aiming to improve on Saints debut

St Helens new full-back Adam Quinlan may have scored a hat-trick of tries on his debut last week against Huddersfield, but he is still looking to improve on Thursday evening against Warrington.

Saints travel to the Halliwell Jones Stadium looking to make it a hat-trick of victories over Wire in 2015, but Quinlan knows that it will not be easy to achieve victory.

“It’s going to be a real tough game,” he said.

“But we know that, and we’re going to come in prepared.

“You want to play hard and tough games – that’s what footy’s about, and it’s exciting.

“I’ve still got a lot to work on from that game [last week].

“You see from the outside the three tries, but there were a lot of things that I could have done better.

“We’re working on that through the week and continuing to build.”

One thing which Quinlan is certain will happen at Warrington is that he will be tested with plenty of high, hanging kicks.

“I’ve come to expect that as a full-back,” he said.

“They’re not easy to catch, so if you’ve got the ball, you’re always going to put it in the air.

“I’ve come to expect it, and I do my best out there to take them.”
