The Qualifiers Preview: Leigh v Hull KR (Sat)

James Gordon

Hull KR will be looking to take a significant step towards a Super League return when they travel to Leigh on Saturday.

Rovers have already won at the Leigh Sports Village this season, in the Challenge Cup, and a win in this one would make them favourites for a top three place in The Qualifiers.

They squeezed past Halifax last weekend, while Leigh put in a commanding performance to beat Featherstone, their second successive win.

Hull KR welcome back Chris Clarkson and James Greenwood from injury, though Adam Quinlan misses out.

Centre Thomas Minns and Mose Masoe, who both took knocks in last week’s win, are also included in Tim Sheens 19-man squad.

Leigh are unchanged for a game that will be televised on Sky Sports at 3.15pm.

Squads:

Leigh: Brown, Burr, Dawson, Drinkwater, Fleming, Hansen, Higham, Hood, Hopkins, Langi, McNally, Maria, Mortimer, Paterson, Reynolds, Richards, Stewart, Tickle, Vea.

Hull KR: Minns, Shaw, Ellis, Scruton, Lunt, Clarkson, Blair, Greenwood, Addy, Lawler, Marsh, Mulhern, Heffernan, Moss, Kavanagh, Carney, Jewitt, Atkin, Masoe.

Prediction:

Buoyed by recent wins, Leigh might have too much – Centurions by 6.
